About the Role
As a Senior Clinical Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development of our Children's Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Programme. You will oversee the treatment and management plans for children, young people, and parents managed by CWPs and CBT practitioners, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based interventions. Your expertise will be invaluable in supporting the trainees to develop their skills and confidence in delivering these interventions. You will work closely with our service heads and leads to ensure the trainees meet their training requirements and service needs.

Key Responsibilities
• Oversee treatment and management plans for children, young people, and parents managed by CWPs and CBT practitioners.
• Support children, young people, and families in self-managing mental health difficulties.
• Collaborate with children, young people, and families to develop intervention plans and agree on outcomes.
• Operate from an inclusive values base, recognizing and respecting diversity.
• Accept referrals and adhere to national and local service protocols.
• Conduct accurate risk assessments for clients.
• Maintain coherent records of activities in line with service protocols, using data to inform decisions.
• Work collaboratively with other professionals and communities to enhance access to mental health support.
• Provide joint specialist assessments and treatments, and supervise trainees in the NELFT London CAMHS teams.
• Evaluate trainees' readiness to work independently with clients and interventions.
• Support trainees in liaising with education, health, social care, and voluntary sector staff involved in client care.

The training program, conducted in collaboration with renowned training organisations and featuring instruction from leaders in the field, presents an exceptional opportunity to develop skills in a new, evidence-based intervention endorsed by the CYP MH (Children & Young People Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) program. We have 8 posts distributed across our CAMHS and MHST in Barking & Dagenham, Havering & Waltham Forest.

Qualifications
Essential
  • Appropriate qualification to be an existing senior CYPMHS clinician i.e. Training in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, specific psychological therapy, or related field.
Desirable
  • Qualifications and training in Evidenced-Based interventions i.e. li>
Desirable
  • Experience of working with children, young people, and parents presenting with a range of mental health difficulties and challenging behaviour.
  • High level skills in working with professional networks and the ability to advocate for and advance the mental health needs of parents and their children.
  • Ability to chair team meetings, undertake delegated management tasks and support the CYPMHS Service Manager in general team tasks/development as required.
  • Effectively manage a clinical caseload, complete outcomes measures routinely, update clinical records in line with team, service, and Trust requirements.
