Chief Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chief Engineer to join our team at Ernest Gordon Recruitment Limited. As a key member of our offshore operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vessels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee the assigned offshore assets to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and class requirements.
  • Drive onboard team performance through senior officers, ensuring the highest standards of safety, vessel management, and crew performance.
  • Ensure all shipboard mechanical, electrical, and navigational systems are operated and maintained safely and efficiently.
  • Work closely with the vessel management team to develop and implement strategies for improving vessel performance and reducing costs.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Chief Engineer or Technical Superintendent in the offshore PSV and ERRV industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of shipboard systems and operations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
