About the Role

This vacancy is for a Classroom Assistant (Curriculum Area Learning Supervisor) to work under the direction of teaching members of staff to support in the classroom and produce resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support in the classroom and produce resources under the direction of teaching members of staff.
  • Run an after-school club.
  • Work with students with a range of learning needs.
  • Support staff with a passion for transforming the lives of our students.
  • Have very good numeracy/literacy skills equivalent to GCSE C and above.
  • Have NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or recognised equivalent qualification or willing to gain the qualification.
  • Have excellent communication skills with students, parents/carers and professionals.
  • Use ICT to support and enhance teaching and learning.
  • Act as Cover Supervisor during the absence of teaching staff.
  • Support students with their personal care and medical needs e.g. enteral feeding, administering medication and suction if required.
  • Be involved in supporting students with their personal care and medical needs e.g. enteral feeding, administering medication and suction if required.
  • Be a team player who is able to work collaboratively with others.
  • Work across the school/sites with other student groups if required.
Requirements
  • GCSE C and above in numeracy/literacy.
  • NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or recognised equivalent qualification or willingness to gain the qualification.
