Job Summary

The Midwife Clinical Lead will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the Perinatal Pelvic Health Service across South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This role involves working with the Obstetric team to manage the day-to-day operations of the service and contributing to its strategic direction. The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching, training, and educating professionals, as well as a strong understanding of clinical risk management and governance.

The estimated salary for this position is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. This includes benefits such as leadership and improvement training, quality improvement skills, and access to further education and development opportunities.

The successful candidate will be expected to work towards developing a structured approach to delivering care and providing staff training, ensuring a comprehensive high-quality service within maternity. They will also be involved in the development and implementation of clinical protocols and guidelines for maternity service users.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Working with the Obstetric team to develop and implement strategies for improving patient outcomes
  • Providing specialist evidence-based care for women with OASI, other childbirth-related perineal trauma, and pregnancy-related bladder/bowel dysfunction
  • Acting as a significant educational resource for midwives and trainees on OASI, CRPT, and pregnancy-related bladder/bowel dysfunction
