Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a Consultant Geriatrician to join its Older People's Services team at Whipps Cross Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to develop new models of working and services that support older people attending the hospital and within the local community.
Main Responsibilities- Maintain full registration with the General Medical Council and a license to practice.
- Participate in clinical governance, working closely with other professionals to provide comprehensive care of elderly patients in and out of hospital.
- Attend daily ward multidisciplinary board rounds to review flow and discharge planning.
- Lead, develop, and organize services in line with the Trust's business plans.
- Liaise and communicate with the Lead Clinician for Older People Services and the General Manager and Clinical Director.
- Higher specialist training in Geriatrics and G(I) Medicine.
- Broad experience in Geriatrics and G(I)M.
- Current ALS certificate.
- Ability to organize and deliver a teaching program.
- Experience in Service Development.
- Detailed knowledge of Geriatrics and G(I)M and of the specialist skills required for this post.
- Knowledge of multidisciplinary clinical audit and a commitment to improving quality of care to patients.
- Understanding of modern medical curricula and a commitment to lifelong learning.
