Job Description:

We are seeking a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist school for students with severe learning difficulties.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children and young people with a range of needs, including autism, Down's syndrome, and profound and multiple learning difficulties.

The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Requirements:

  • Essential school experience, ideally supporting pupils with SEN or SEMH needs.
  • Makaton and/or BSL skills, which would be advantageous.
  • Team Teach level 2 certification or willingness to participate in our Team Teach course.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and other support staff.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
