About the Role


We are seeking a highly skilled Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our Inpatient team therapy team at RSH.


The post holder will work clinically on our Oncology ward at RSH, supporting a Band 5 Physiotherapist and collaborating with a Band 6 Occupational Therapist.


The post holder will work closely with the Macmillan Integrated Therapy Team to provide expert Oncology knowledge and advice to Therapy colleagues within the wider Inpatient team.


Main Responsibilities



  • Treat Oncology patients on Ward 23, including rehabilitation and discharge planning which may be complex.
  • Participate in the in-service training rota as well as clinical supervision of both therapy staff and students.
  • Involve in the weekend respiratory, orthopaedic and discharge rotas.
  • Participate in the on call respiratory out of hours service.

Person Specification



  • Qualified Physiotherapist.
  • Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy.
  • Evidence of specialist clinical training in relevant areas.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience



  • Previous post-qualification experience.
  • Experience of working within the NHS.
  • Experience of supervising junior and non-qualified staff.
  • Experience of active participation in on call out of hours working.
