Job Title: Development Manager

Turner & Townsend Group is seeking a skilled Development Manager to join our team. As a Development Manager, you will play a key role in delivering better outcomes for our clients, helping our people to realize their potential, and contributing to the creation of a prosperous society.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the development process, including project management, cost and commercial management, and digital solutions. They will be responsible for providing 'developer' expertise to positively influence the strategic direction across the whole project, including helping to write business cases, managing viability, and undertaking financial modeling.

The ideal candidate will have a construction or property-related degree, professional accreditation, and experience in mixed-use developments and/or office developments. They will also have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong IT skills, and a working knowledge of Microsoft packages and Argus Developer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report to Development Directors to manage projects through all development phases
  • Work as part of a team to undertake bid submissions to win new work
  • Secure and complete the necessary administration for client commissions
  • Take the lead on new development opportunities
  • Obtain all statutory approvals/agreements in line with the client brief
  • Write and contribute to business cases
  • Undertake market analysis
  • Formulate development appraisals using Argus and cashflow projections
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with external professional consultants and public sector stakeholders
  • Obtain fee proposals, undertake tender analysis, and recommend consultants for appointment
  • Work with a range of internal teams and external advisors through design, planning, cost and value management, procurement, and construction delivery phases
  • Manage consultant teams to successfully appoint a main contractor for project delivery
  • Ensure a thorough handover has been undertaken with the project manager for the delivery phase
  • Continue to monitor the project through the delivery phase and remain the client's main contact
  • Help drive projects forward to achieve delivery milestones
