About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Adult Principal Practitioner Psychologist to join our High Intensity User Service (HIUS) team. As a key member of our dynamic team, you will provide clinical leadership and work closely with colleagues to deliver high-quality care to individuals with complex mental health needs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Offer clinical leadership to the HIUS team, working intensively with high-intensity users of services and their networks to better understand their needs.
  • Collaborate widely with colleagues in Home Treatment, Liaison Mental Health, Inpatient Mental Health Wards, and Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Services to find improved ways of meeting the needs of service users.
  • Provide direct clinical work, consultation, supervision, and training to support the development of the service and improve service user experience.

Person Specification
  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in applied psychology, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, two or more distinct psychological therapies, and lifespan developmental psychology.
  • Professionally registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, and a submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) will be necessary to check for any previous criminal convictions.
