Senior Transportation Planner

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Transportation Planner to join our team at Octavius Infrastructure. As a key member of our planning department, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of transportation infrastructure in the Eastern region.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects such as the Chelmsford bypass and Link Road in Colchester. You will be responsible for developing and managing project programs, working closely with estimators and delivery teams to ensure commercial attractiveness to clients.
You will also identify and evaluate risks within projects, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and company policies. Additionally, you will develop relationships with other teams to promote resource sharing, innovation, and process improvement.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage project programs for multiple projects across various disciplines.
- Work with estimators and delivery teams to produce commercially attractive programs for clients.
- Identify and evaluate risks within projects, including planning and project-wide risks.
- Ensure compliance with legislative requirements, company policies, and governance frameworks.
- Develop relationships with other teams to promote resource sharing, innovation, and process improvement.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- An engineering background with relevant experience in suitable disciplines (e.g., Structures, Buildings, Geotechnical, earthworks, highways).
- Excellent knowledge of planning software, including MS-Project, Asta Powerproject, or P6 Primavera.
- The ability to plan from first principles and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Good understanding of NEC3 and its application to contract programs.
- A related degree, diploma, or vocational qualification, or equivalent demonstrable experience in Civil Engineering.
Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of £55,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package including a Company Car scheme, Private Healthcare, Pension, Life Assurance cover, 25 days Annual Leave, and a day off for your birthday.
