Assistant Store Manager Opportunity at Musgrave

Musgrave, a leading family-owned business with a 140-year heritage in food and brand innovation, is seeking an experienced Assistant Store Manager to join their team. As a key member of the store management team, you will play a vital role in driving sales, improving customer satisfaction, and ensuring the smooth operation of the store.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Store Manager in the daily operation of the store, ensuring all colleagues and assets are engaged and managed to deliver a profitable store.
  • Deputise for the Store Manager in their absence, as required.
  • Support the Store Manager in delivering on store KPIs, maximising sales and profitability, and maintaining high store standards.
  • Champion a culture of safety and compliance, leading by example on food safety, health and safety, and compliance.
  • Provide excellent customer service, championing a culture of customer satisfaction.
  • Support the Store Manager in managing the team, including roster writing, return to work interviews, investigations, and performance management.
  • Ensure customer availability of products by overseeing store ordering and stock management.
Requirements:
  • At least 2 years' recent experience in a busy convenience or supermarket at Supervisor level within a sales-based environment.
  • GCSE Maths and English, Grade C or above (or equivalent), and/or further education in a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in stock control, people skills, cost control, rota planning, and HACCP implementation.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
  • Good working knowledge of all fresh food areas and retail stock take preparation and execution.
