Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and self-motivated Transportation Coordinator to join our team at CRC Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for planning and managing a designated region of our client's commercial vehicle fleet, working towards carefully defined transportation budgets and targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage drivers and subcontractors remotely to ensure efficient fleet operations.
  • Produce and deliver a daily fleet schedule by depot to optimize transportation routes and reduce costs.
  • Review and develop work volumes and fleet resource requirements to meet business needs.
  • Liaise with depot operations management to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Assist with other day-to-day operational duties and problem-solving to ensure business continuity.
  • Provide a high level of professional service to ensure that orders are fulfilled and excellent customer service is provided at all times.
  • Report to the Transport Supervisor and Office Managers to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Company to support business growth and development.
  • Comply with all Company policies related to Code of Conduct, Environmental, Health and Safety, and Community.

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy to ensure data integrity and quality.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, ambitious, flexible, and adaptable to work in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Works with integrity and confidentiality to maintain trust and respect.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced office environment and cope with pressurized circumstances.
  • Experienced at managing and developing different relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Team player with the ability to work on own initiative to achieve business objectives.
  • Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft package skills.
  • Experience of transportation planning, preferably within the recycling industry.
  • Experience of KPI reporting to explain performance and target areas for improvement.

Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • UK geographical knowledge to understand transportation routes and logistics.
  • Financial knowledge in vehicle and driver costings to optimize fleet operations.
  • Knowledge of providing transportation freight quotations to ensure accurate pricing.
