About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Therapeutic Play Specialist to join our team at Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People. As a key member of our team, you will provide play and leisure activities to babies, children, and young people with complex and/or palliative care needs in their homes and community settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual programmes of activity for the babies, children, and young people.
  • Support family members in creating meaningful memories and activities using specialist skills.
  • Advise, support, and signpost family members regarding specialist play and end-of-life care.
  • Carry out complex and sensitive conversations with families regarding end-of-life care and provide recommendations on suitable activities.

Requirements

  • Fully qualified Health Play Specialist registered with HPSET.
  • Experience working with babies, children, and young people of all ages.
  • Experience working with babies, children, and young people with complex and/or palliative care needs.
  • Ability to travel around the East Midlands and work in community settings.
