Project Manager – Capex Improvements

Salary: £60,000 + benefits

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for managing and supporting high-value Capital Projects, preparing risk assessments, issuing Permits for Work, contractor management and control for electrical and mechanical installation and capital equipment projects.
  2. Delivering high-value CapEx (£1mil +) engineering projects on time, to budget, and within specification.
  3. Maintaining the operational functionality of the plant through CapEx project and process improvement.
  4. Writing specifications and scopes of work, preparing RFQs, reviewing suppliers' bids to prepare justification and ROI.
  5. Leading and supporting projects to further improve plant KPIs (OEE).
  6. Delivering departmental capex projects and cost reduction projects.
  7. Collaborating with the Engineering and Maintenance department to develop and implement CapEx projects.
  8. Ensuring adherence to H&S policy, procedure, and targets and ensuring contractors adhere to the same.

Requirements:

  1. The successful applicant will be a competent Projects Manager or Engineering Manager with experience within a high-volume manufacturing or capital-intensive engineering environment.
  2. Degree/HNC in an engineering discipline, ideally with project management qualifications.
  3. Knowledge of production machinery, plant installation, and building facilities, ideally gained in heavy industry or manufacturing environments.
  4. Good understanding of Health & Safety and Safe Systems of Work: RAMS, Permits to Work, etc.
  5. Proven track record of delivering £mil value CapEx projects to agreed specification, on time, and to budget.
