Job Summary

The NPD Research Scientist II will be a key player in new product innovation and development at Florida Crystals / ASR Group. This role will involve leading the development of new products from concept to commercialization, while ensuring they meet the company's objectives and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop new products, including evaluating new ingredients, verifying nutritional profiles, and conducting product or packaging stability assessments.
  • Support the development of pilot plant processes, systems, and technologies, and design experiments to evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement projects, ensuring a safe and accident-free laboratory environment.
  • Conduct production trials with technical cross-functional team members to validate product formulation.
  • Document processes and procedures, prepare technical reports, and develop product specifications for approval.
  • Provide insights to sales and customers on new products and technologies that drive product portfolio and strategic vision.
  • Manage projects, leveraging Product Development resources, and collaborate with cross-functional teams through project meetings.
  • Lead the development of quality assurance programs, partnering with QA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Master's Degree in Food Science or related technology/engineering field.
  • Hands-on experience in formulation and product development from bench to scale up.
  • Project management experience, with the ability to manage multiple work streams in parallel.
  • Familiarity with Genesis or similar software, and experience with SAP PLM.
  • Computer literacy in MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, Teams, Projects, and Power Point.
