About the Role

We are seeking a Clinical Administration Associate to join our team at the NHS. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a challenging yet rewarding environment, supporting our Nursing services and contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that rooms are properly stocked and well-organized, clinical waste is managed efficiently, and patient samples are collected, tested, and recorded. The role will also involve performing venepuncture and chaperoning in clinics as required, as well as supporting the nurse team with daily administration tasks.

You will work within agreed protocols and operating procedures to ensure the smooth running of the practice and be an important member of the Nursing team. Clinical Practice:

  • Undertake venepuncture when trained
  • Perform Blood Pressure readings when trained
  • Carry out testing and sending of patient samples as per clinicians' requests
  • Ensure specimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation

Clinical Support:

  • Act as a chaperone as required
  • Provide support during coil fit clinics and reorder stock as required
  • Provide support during minor surgery clinic and reorder stock as required

Clinical Administration:

  • Monitor clinical central stock levels and trigger ordering with the ordering lead to ensure adequate stock levels
  • Stock rotation
  • Stockroom organization and maintenance
  • Restocking of clinical rooms
  • Ensure fridge temperatures are checked and logged, and fridges are cleaned routinely in accordance with extant guidance
  • Ensure clinical waste is removed and properly disposed of, and sharps bins are replaced in accordance with the practice IPC policy
About You

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. You should have experience of working with the general public and in primary care or health care settings. A qualification in Phlebotomy and NVQ (level 3 or 4) Healthcare or working towards gaining equivalent level would be beneficial. Good interpersonal skills, ability to follow clinical policy and procedure, and clear telephone manner are essential.
