Job Title: Consultant Anaesthetist - General Anaesthetic Services

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Anaesthetist to join our team at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality General Anaesthetic services and will have the opportunity to develop their skills and subspecialty under the guidance of an inspiring team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide General Anaesthetic services to patients at Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospital
  • Develop and implement anaesthetic services to improve patient care and outcomes
  • Supervise and teach trainees in anaesthetic services
  • Participate in the General/Obstetric Consultant on-call rota

Person Specification: To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Inclusion on the Specialist Register for Anaesthesia or within 6 months of completion of training
  • 6 months advanced obstetric training to RCoA standards or equivalent
  • A wide experience and training in Anaesthesia and Critical Care to Consultant level
  • Experience of teaching Foundation Year and Specialty Trainees to standards required by the RCoA
  • Understanding of the research process and evidence-based medicine
  • Excellent written and verbal English language skills
  • Self-motivation and leadership skills
