We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Anaesthetist Consultant to join our team at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality General Anaesthetic services and contributing to the development of our Anaesthetic services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality Anaesthetic services to patients, including Emergency Anaesthetic and Obstetric services.
- Supervise and mentor trainees, including Foundation Year and Specialty Trainees.
- Contribute to the development of our Anaesthetic services, including the implementation of new procedures and protocols.
- Participate in the General/Obstetric Consultant on-call rota.
- Collaborate with medical students from the University of Cambridge and the University of Leicester who are completing their Peri-Operative Medicine experience.
- Inclusion on the Specialist Register for Anaesthesia or within 6 months of completion of training.
- 6 months advanced obstetric training to RCoA standards or equivalent.
- A wide experience and training in Anaesthesia and Critical Care to Consultant level.
- Experience of teaching Foundation Year and Specialty Trainees to standards required by the RCoA.
- Understanding of NHS management structure and recent changes, plus the responsibilities of an NHS Consultant.
- Understanding of audit process.
- Use of wide range of IT functions.
- Understanding developments in, and the process of medical education.
- Well organised and skilled in good time management.
- Effective interpersonal and IT skills.
- Demonstrate ability to relate to and work within a team.
- Excellent written and verbal English language skills.
- Self-motivation & Leadership skills.
