Respiratory Healthcare Assistant

About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Respiratory Assistant Technical Officer to join our team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts. As a key member of our respiratory diagnostics department, you will be responsible for performing a range of respiratory-related breathing tests, including spirometry and capillary blood gas collection and analysis.
Main Responsibilities
- Work with patients to perform respiratory-related breathing tests, including spirometry and capillary blood gas collection and analysis.
- Collect and analyze blood samples to support respiratory diagnoses.
- Assist with administrative duties related to your clinical role, including data entry and record-keeping.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
About You
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will have a good understanding of respiratory physiology and a strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Requirements
- GCSE grade C or above in English language, mathematics, and biology/science.
- Experience working with patients and in a hospital environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Basic level of fitness to perform job duties.
