About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Affordable Homes Specialist to join our team in Nottingham.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a housing association, residential house builder/developer or local authority and be able to negotiate contracts for the sale of affordable housing.

You will also be responsible for obtaining and analysing affordable housing offers from local authorities and registered providers, as well as researching and evaluating local authority housing requirements.

  • Negotiate contracts for the sale of affordable housing to registered providers and other affordable housing providers.
  • Obtain and analyse affordable housing offers from local authorities and registered providers.
  • Research and evaluate local authority housing requirements to inform development strategies.
  • Negotiate affordable housing terms in Section 106 Agreements with local authorities and registered providers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with registered provider clients to ensure successful partnerships.
  • Negotiate the sale of open market housing plots to registered providers as required.
  • Undertake scheme financial appraisals and viability assessments to ensure feasibility.
Your Skills and Experience
  • Previous experience within a housing association, residential house builder/developer or local authority is essential.
  • Experience of negotiating Section 106 agreements and affordable housing contracts is necessary.
  • A strong understanding of the sale and purchase process for land & property on a freehold and leasehold basis is required.
  • A thorough understanding of the housing development process, including project management and financial skills.
  • Strong financial and numeracy skills are essential for this role.
