Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

Leader Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team of professionals working in specialist SEND schools in Wakefield. Our schools cater to children and young people aged 4-19 with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Speech and Language Needs, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEND on a 1:1 or group basis, either in a classroom or care setting.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to provide a nurturing and patient approach to supporting students with diverse and complex needs.
  • Develop and maintain strong communication and teamwork skills to ensure effective support for students.
  • Adapt to the individual needs of students and respond effectively to their needs.
  • Commit to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
