Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research Analyst to join our team at the RAIL SAFETY AND STANDARDS BOARD. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing analytical leadership and expertise to support the delivery of our research programme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the review and assessment of research requests, engaging with stakeholders and technical experts to ensure high-quality research outputs.
  • Develop and lead a hybrid team of RSSB and external industry experts to develop research specifications and case for research.
  • Ensure timely and effective communication of research outcomes and findings to stakeholders.
  • Support the tender review process and attend steering group meetings to ensure research is steered to deliver expected benefits.
  • Review and disseminate research outputs, including reports, presentations, and summaries, to effectively communicate key findings and conclusions.

  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to adapt and respond to new opportunities and changes.
  • Experience in gathering, structuring, and analysing qualitative and quantitative intelligence.
  • Experience in structuring research and assessing its expected and delivered benefits.
  • Line management and leadership experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence multiple stakeholders.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Good understanding of the GB rail landscape.
