Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional Lead Research Analyst to join our team at the RAIL SAFETY AND STANDARDS BOARD. As a key member of our Research Directorate, you will play a critical role in providing analytical leadership and delivering high-impact research projects that drive innovation and improvement in the rail industry.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead research projects to deliver high-quality analytical outputs that inform industry stakeholders and drive improvement in rail safety and standards.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to scope, design, and deliver research projects that address key industry challenges.
  • Lead a team of analysts to ensure the timely and effective delivery of research outputs, including reports, presentations, and other analytical products.
  • Work closely with the Head of Research Delivery to develop and implement the Research Directorate's strategy and goals.

Requirements

  • PhD or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, science, mathematics, or social science).
  • Proven experience in leading research projects and teams, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality analytical outputs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop evidence-based recommendations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
