Education Assistant for Students with Special Needs

Master Class Education is seeking a highly skilled Education Assistant for Students with Special Needs to join its team at a dedicated primary school in Littlehampton, West Sussex.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance to students with SEN, including autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, dyslexia, speech and language difficulties, or emotional and behavioural challenges.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide 1:1 and group support to students with SEN, adapting classroom activities to meet their needs.
  2. Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning plans and providing additional support to SEN students.
  3. Support students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and independence.
  4. Monitor student progress and report back to the SENCO and teachers.
  5. Implement and review IEPs or EHCPs, ensuring the best possible outcomes for students.
  6. Provide personal care and support to students where needed, prioritizing their well-being and comfort.
  7. Collaborate with other professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to supporting students.
  8. Contribute to creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

Estimated salary range: £81-£85 per day. Monday-Friday, term time only.
