Job Summary

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Consultant GI Radiologist to join our busy and expanding Department.

As a successful candidate, you will be responsible for reporting general radiographic examinations, developing advanced clinical skills, and participating in the general on-call rota.

You will work flexibly according to changes in work patterns and requirements, and be involved in the organisation and administration of the Radiology Department, as well as teaching other clinical staff.

The successful candidate will have a full-time job plan based on a 10 PA working week, covering all aspects of a consultant's professional practice, including clinical work, teaching, research, education, and managerial responsibilities.

Requirements

  • MBBS, MBChB or equivalent medical qualification
  • GMC Specialist Registration in Specialty or eligibility for entry onto the Specialist Register within 6 months
  • Full Registration and a licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • Entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register via Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR)
  • Evidence of commitment to Clinical Audit and Research
  • Clinical training equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCT in Clinical Radiology
  • Experience in Upper GI Imaging and Cross-Sectional Imaging
  • Competent in liver biopsy and ascitic drainage
  • Previous experience in upper GI MDT
