Specialist Learning Support for Children with ASC

Teaching Personnel is seeking a compassionate and skilled individual to provide specialist learning support for a child with suspected Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) in a primary school in Blackpool.

About the Role:
  • This fulfilling position involves working 1:1 with a child in Reception, using adapted teaching methods to help them access their learning and develop socially.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide tailored support to a child in Reception with suspected ASC, focusing on social and emotional development.
  2. Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement the child's Individual Education Plan (IEP).
  3. Communicate regularly with parents and staff to ensure the pupil's progress and well-being.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly ASC.
  • A calm and patient approach to support.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the school team.
