Job Description

We are seeking an ESG Investment Analyst to join our team in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and recommending sustainable investment opportunities that align with our client's ESG criteria.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of potential ESG investment opportunities, including renewable energy projects, sustainable technologies, and environmentally friendly companies.
  • Assess the environmental impact, financial performance, and ESG credentials of potential investments.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements in the green investment sector.
Data Collection and Reporting
  • Gather and analyze ESG data from various sources to support investment decisions.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on potential green investments for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain ESG performance metrics and dashboards to track the impact of ESG investments.
Due Diligence
  • Ensure internal investment criteria (firm synergies & hurdle rate) are met.
  • Conduct ESG due diligence on potential investments to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Evaluate the sustainability practices and performance of potential investees.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Prepare materials for approval of investments by required local and global committees (ExCos, Investment Committees, etc.).
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, particularly Head Office, to understand areas of focus and business synergies.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including investors, regulatory bodies, and industry experts, to gather insights and validate investment opportunities.
  • Participate in industry conferences, workshops, and networking events to build relationships and stay informed about best practices.
Strategic Support
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on emerging green investment opportunities.
  • Contribute to the integration of ESG criteria into the company's overall investment strategy.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, PRI Academy) are a plus.
  • Experience in ESG analysis, sustainable finance, or investment analysis.
  • Proven experience in analyzing green investment opportunities and conducting ESG due diligence.
  • Proven experience in company valuation and financial modeling.
Skills and Competencies
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex ESG data and financial information.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, Bloomberg).
  • Passion for sustainability and green investments.
