Acute Paediatrician Opportunity at Furness General Hospital

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Consultant Paediatrician to join our established and expanding team at Furness General Hospital. As a key member of our paediatric team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to children and young people across the Morecambe Bay footprint.
The successful candidate will have a strong clinical background in paediatrics, with experience in acute and non-acute paediatric problems, including medical, surgical, child protection, resuscitation, and neonatal care. You will also have proven experience in clinical audit, clinical supervision of juniors, and delivery of medical education and multi-professional training.

Main Duties of the Job- Deliver high-quality care to children and young people across the Morecambe Bay footprint
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and guidelines
- Participate in clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives
- Supervise and mentor junior staff, including medical students and junior doctors
- Deliver medical education and training to multi-professional teams
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practice and entry on the Specialist Register or in receipt of CCT within six months of interview
- Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (or equivalent)
- Completed Specialist Training (or equivalent)
- Completed and up-to-date APLS/NLS (or equivalent) and level 3 Child Protection Training
