Kent County Council's Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children's Service is a centre of excellence for social work practice, providing accommodation and support to newly arrived unaccompanied asylum-seeking children in Kent.
As a Social Worker in this service, you will have the opportunity to work with a niche group of young people, responding to their needs and ensuring their voice is heard.
Our service is committed to providing high-quality support, and we are seeking passionate Social Workers to join us on this journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Support newly arrived unaccompanied asylum-seeking children in Kent
- Work with a variety of scenarios and use your Social Worker theories and tools to achieve the best outcomes for vulnerable children
- Develop skills in age assessments, working with children in care, managing child protection concerns, and interagency working with key partners
Our Offer
- Competitive basic salary between £32,933 and £43,592
- Annual Leave allowance of 29 days rising to 30 days after 5 years service
- Up to £2,000 car market premium

Requirements
- Command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements
- Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service
- Registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England
