Job Title: Special Needs Assistant

Salary: £90-£100 per day, East London

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Special Needs Assistant to join our team at an SEN school in Barking & Dagenham, East London. As a Special Needs Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher, providing support to students with complex needs and learning difficulties.

The successful candidate will have experience working with young people with SEN and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be responsible for promoting a positive and inclusive classroom culture, providing emotional support, and implementing behavior management strategies to maintain a safe learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with and supporting students with various special educational needs, including profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD)
  • Providing health and medical support to students as necessary
  • Working closely with students under the direction of the teachers, monitoring students' work
  • Promoting a positive and inclusive classroom culture and providing emotional support when needed
  • Implementing behavior management strategies to maintain a positive and safe learning environment
  • Assisting with lesson planning and delivery

Requirements:

  • The right to work in the UK
  • A clear and up-to-date DBS
  • Experience working as a healthcare assistant or in a similar role
  • A knowledge and understanding of working with young people with SEN
