Clinical Lead Health Visitor: Infant Feeding Specialist

The Clinical Lead Health Visitor: Infant Feeding role is a key position within the Pharmacy Service at Whittington Health NHS Trust. As a member of the Medicines Management Team, the successful candidate will contribute to delivering an excellent Medicines Optimisation service. This involves providing advice, support, and leadership on Medicines Management to staff across all wards in the Trust.
Main Responsibilities- Provide a medicines management service to a range of specialty wards across the hospital site.
- Work as part of the near patient dispensing team, supplying medication to patients during their stay and at point of discharge.
- Liaise with ward staff and other healthcare professionals to improve patient care.
- Provide patient counselling on discharge medication.
- Act as a role model and help train new and junior members of staff.
- Participate in the Accredited Checking Technician dispensary role or be willing to undertake the qualification.
- Contribute to the economic, effective, and efficient supply of medication to all wards.

Person Specification- BTEC LEVEL 3 diploma in the principles and practice for pharmacy technicians or NVQ Level 3 in pharmacy services or equivalent.
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Accredited for final prescription checking or willing to undertake training for accreditation.
As a member of the Whittington Health NHS Trust team, you will be expected to comply with the Trust's Safeguarding Children and Adults policies, procedures, and protocols. This includes ensuring you are familiar with and comply with the London Child Protection Procedures and protocols for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people.
