Housing Development Officer

Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Council is looking for a skilled Housing Development Officer to join our team in Ipswich, Suffolk. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering affordable housing that meets the needs of our residents.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of housing management, town planning, or development and related practices and challenges. They will be able to analyze data, legislation, policies, and drawings to make written or verbal recommendations to different audiences.
As a Housing Development Officer, you will work closely with planners, developers, communities, and housing associations to ensure that the right types of affordable homes are built. You will negotiate with housing developers, influence planning decisions, and advise community groups and elected officials on community-led housing schemes.
Our benefits package includes a competitive salary of £36,124 - £42,708 per annum (pro rata), great opportunities for learning and development, and a generous leave entitlement.
