The Family Information Service at Oxfordshire County Council provides a centralized resource for professionals and families to access information and guidance on childcare, early years provision, and other services of benefit to parents, prospective parents, children, and young people in the county.

As an Information Officer Assistant, you will be responsible for handling information, updating databases and IT systems, and providing information and advice to families and professionals via telephone, email, and face-to-face interactions.

You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of services and support professionals in their work with children, young people, and families.

The role requires a highly effective communicator with experience of delivering information and advice in a professional setting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and updating accurate, high-quality information on childcare, early years provision, and other services of benefit to parents, prospective parents, children, and young people in Oxfordshire.
  • Providing information and advice to families and professionals via telephone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Supporting professionals in their work with children, young people, and families by providing a centralized information resource.
  • Referring families or providers on to other professionals as appropriate to access other sources of help and support.

The successful candidate will have experience handling information and updating databases/IT systems, knowledge of early years and childcare provision, and a highly effective communication style.
