Senior Manufacturing Solution Architect

GlaxoSmithKline is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Solution Architect to lead the development of its global supply chain IT strategy. This role will provide leadership to link the business mission, strategy, and processes of the GSK Global Supply Chain Manufacturing Domain to its IT strategy.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the pharma industry and experience in developing roadmaps, frameworks, and reference architectures. They will be responsible for aligning on strategic direction, translating business requirements into technology roadmaps, and participating in planning how roadmaps will be realized.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing a Manufacturing Architecture framework consisting of overall Digital Strategy, Functional Architecture Guidelines, and Technical architecture definitions.
  • Participating in the design process to ensure detailed designs adhere to and are consistent with the target architecture.
  • Evaluating next-generation technologies by conducting RFI, RFP, and POCs.
  • Participating in business partner and vendor product roadmap development.
  • Collaborating with the business, engineers, administrators, operators, and support staff to ensure technology architecture is realistic, secure, supportable, and usable.

The Senior Manufacturing Solution Architect will also identify opportunities for new standards within the Manufacturing domain, increase reuse of global and GSC architecture standards and shared services, and increase flexibility in IT solutions and services to handle business change at reduced cost.

Additionally, the role will involve keeping abreast of industry trends and new technologies that have the potential to impact employee productivity and GSK operations, and identifying how new technologies can be applied within the company to improve operations.

Basic qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in an IT-specific field. Preferred qualifications include progressively responsible experience as an engineer and as a domain architect in the pharma or other highly regulated industry, understanding of regulations that impact the pharma industry, and experience working in Agile/DevOps organizations.
