About the Job

We are seeking an experienced General Practice Nurse to join our team at Central Surgery Rugby. As a General Practice Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless delivery of services.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chronic disease management, particularly in Diabetes, COPD, and Asthma. You will also have experience in health promotion, cervical cytology, and teaching breast awareness. Additionally, you should be proficient in LES/DES/QOF related clinical and administrative work, routine immunisations, travel health advice and vaccinations, and contraception.

A car driver with a clean license is required, as well as flexibility to cover colleague absence through sickness, annual leave or study leave. Experience of primary care is essential, and knowledge of the NMC Code of Practice is highly desirable.

Job Responsibilities
  • Chronic Disease Management: Diagnose and manage patients with Diabetes, COPD, and Asthma, including developing and implementing treatment plans.
  • Health Promotion: Provide health education and promote healthy lifestyle choices to patients and communities.
  • Cervical Cytology: Conduct cervical screening tests and provide results and recommendations to patients.
  • Teaching Breast Awareness: Educate patients on breast health and encourage early detection of breast cancer.
  • LES/DES/QOF Related Work: Manage and administer Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) initiatives, including data collection and analysis.
Requirements
  • Registered General Nurse qualification (diploma or degree level)
  • Experience in chronic disease management, health promotion, and cervical cytology
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the last 12 months
