Safety, Health, Environment & Quality Manager – Exeter

A key opportunity has arisen for a seasoned SHEQ professional to lead the way in ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for a well-established construction company.

Your primary objective will be to identify and mitigate potential hazards, guaranteeing the well-being of workers and stakeholders alike. By overseeing a diverse portfolio of high-end projects in Retail, Leisure, and Hospitality, with values reaching up to £10m, you will play a pivotal role in driving excellence in safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Safe Systems of Work.
  • Provide expert guidance, support, and training to the MD and team members.
  • Embed policies, procedures, and training programs in accordance with HSWA 1974.
  • Produce regular reports detailing current performance, areas for improvement, and successes.
  • Liaise with external agencies and regulatory bodies.
  • Manage CoSHH control measures.
  • Support project teams in achieving the highest possible standards.
  • Implement, manage, and maintain the company's ISO management systems.
  • Develop and maintain safe working processes, policies, and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 management systems.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent HSE qualification).
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and supporting regulations.
  • Passionate about Health & Safety.
  • SMSTS desirable.
  • Relevant driving licence.
