Behavioural Support Worker Required

Job Title: Behavioural Support Worker

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Behavioural Support Worker to join our team. As a Behavioural Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students with behavioural challenges in a local secondary school in Bournemouth.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation of behaviour support plans, ensuring consistency and effectiveness in managing challenging behaviours.
  • Offer one-on-one or small group support to students with behavioural challenges, helping them to understand and manage their emotions and behaviours.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment by promoting and reinforcing positive behaviour and social skills among students.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals to develop and review behaviour intervention strategies tailored to individual student needs.
  • Monitor student behaviour and progress, maintaining accurate records and providing feedback to teachers and parents/guardians as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with students with behavioural challenges in an educational or similar setting.
  • Understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
  • Empathy, patience, and resilience to effectively support students in managing their behaviour and emotions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
