Behavioural Support Worker

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Behavioural Support Worker to join our team in Bournemouth. As a Behavioural Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students with behavioural challenges in a local secondary school.
Key Responsibilities:- Implement behaviour support plans developed by teachers and SENCO, ensuring consistency and effectiveness in managing challenging behaviours.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with behavioural challenges, helping them to understand and manage their emotions and behaviours in various settings.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment by promoting and reinforcing positive behaviour and social skills among students.
- Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCO, and external professionals to develop and review behaviour intervention strategies tailored to individual student needs.
- Monitor student behaviour and progress, maintaining accurate records and providing feedback to teachers and parents/guardians as necessary.
- Assist teachers in maintaining a productive learning environment by implementing proactive strategies and providing support during lessons.
- Experience working with students with behavioural challenges in an educational or similar setting.
- Understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
- Empathy, patience, and resilience to effectively support students in managing their behaviour and emotions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, contributing to a positive school community.
