HIV Mental Health Consultant Psychiatrist Opportunity

At Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our specialist HIV Mental Health Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing mental health assessments and brief interventions to patients living with HIV, working closely with the HIV clinical team to ensure seamless care provision.

This part-time outpatient role is ideally suited to an enthusiastic and committed Consultant Psychiatrist looking to make a positive impact in their community. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including clinical psychologists, to provide holistic trauma-informed care to patients who attend the Lawson HIV post.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent knowledge and skills in specialty, with experience in working with diverse and sometimes marginalised client groups. You will be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care and contributing to the development of mental health support services for HIV patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing mental health assessments and brief interventions to patients living with HIV
  • Working closely with the HIV clinical team to ensure seamless care provision
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic trauma-informed care
  • Contributing to the development of mental health support services for HIV patients
  • Delivering high-quality care and achieving outstanding patient outcomes

Requirements:

  • M.B.B.S. or equivalent medical qualification
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment
  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months
  • Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment

Estimated Salary: £110,000 - £150,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications.
