Job Role and Responsibilities

To ensure HMC certified outlets/organisations are complying with standards in relation to the provision of Halal foods. The successful candidate will also assist in raising awareness of the HMC certification to potential food businesses.

Main Duties of a Monitor:
  • Inspection/Operation
  • Completion of Documentation via App
  • General
  • Customer care
  • Other
Inspection / Operation:
  • Adhere to the monitoring procedures and systems as specified within the HMC Process Document.
  • Visit each registered outlet/organisation within the designated local area a minimum of 4 times per week on a random basis.
  • Inspect each registered outlet/organisation to ensure only HMC approved food products are being stocked and sold.
  • Check all equipment including fridges, freezers, display cabinets, freezer vans, and all other storage areas.
  • Ensure all products and certification devices are not damaged during inspection.
  • Carry out all inspections courteously in cooperation with the outlet staff.
Documentation:
  • Complete documentation in line with the monitoring procedures and systems.
  • Complete and submit time sheets and monitoring logs to Head Office regularly and in a timely manner.
  • Induct newly certified outlets/organisations to ensure they understand the monitoring and auditing requirements.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the Local Area Group (LAG).
  • Liaise with local outlets/organisations and communities to raise the profile of HMC.
  • Liaise with HMC head office and provide weekly/daily monitoring updates.
Person Specification:

Education & Training:

  • Good understanding of how to email.
  • Familiarity with Android or iOS phones.
  • Willing to be trained on internal and external training programs.
  • Health & Hygiene trained to Level 2.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Experience working within the community.
  • Experience in the food industry.
  • Be a practicing Muslim.
