Information Security Governance Policy Specialist

Job Description
Experian's Global Security Office (EGSO) provides a comprehensive suite of information security services, including engineering, security risk management, policy, metrics, and identity management. The EGSO's vision is to protect, connect, and create a secure and resilient business environment. The Information Security Governance team is the principal advocate for information security and is responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive information security strategy to optimize the organization's security posture.
As a Security Governance Senior Technical Policy Specialist at Experian, you will join a talented and experienced information security team and contribute to defining the security posture of a top global company. You will have the opportunity to work across various areas of the Experian business while becoming an expert in security best practices, standards, and related regulations.
To succeed in this role, you must possess a broad and deep understanding of information security, be detail-oriented, and able to distill complex security concepts into simple, actionable recommendations. You will work closely with people from all levels of the business to communicate outcomes to senior leadership and negotiate with subject matter experts on technical details.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the research and development of information security policies and supporting documents, including detailed technical baselines based on industry best practices, with a focus on complex new technologies and Cloud.
- Communicate outcomes to senior leadership across Experian and negotiate with subject matter experts on technical details.
- Work with industry partners to shape the development of industry frameworks and standards and provide insight to the business on upcoming trends and the external security landscape.
- Review and provide expert check and challenge on first-line business units' programs to support compliance with policies, standards, and regulations.
- Drive the Information Security Policy and Standards teams' continuing maturity using new technologies such as AI and ML.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in one or more of the following areas: Information Security, Technology Governance, Technology Audit, Information Technology Compliance.
- Extensive knowledge of IT technologies and methods to secure them, with a deep understanding of Cloud security, including a working knowledge of AWS.
- Understanding of control and risk management concepts and knowledge of the operational aspects of the information risk business.
- Advanced understanding of industry best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO, COBIT, CMMI, OWASP, ITIL).
- Industry certifications such as CCSP, CRISC, CISSP, or CISM, or equivalent experience.
