Job Title: Nutrition Support Dietitian Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Nutrition Support Dietitian Specialist to join our team at Central London Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a Nutrition Support Dietitian Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing expert nutrition support to patients across a range of clinical areas, including nutrition support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate treatment plans for malnourished patients or those at risk of malnutrition adopting a food-based approach.
  • Recommend the use of oral nutritional supplements in line with NICE guidelines and ACBS criteria.
  • Manage patients requiring oral nutrition support with other nutrition-related diseases such as diabetes and cancer.
  • Supervise, train, and teach healthcare professionals.
  • Conduct nutrition support audits, quality improvement, and/or research.
  • Use behaviour change techniques.
  • Contribute to policy, procedures, guidelines, and clinical standards development.
  • Work within community dietetics.

Requirements:

  • Degree/diploma in Dietetics.
  • Current AHP with UK HCPC registration.
  • Evidence of other post-registration education and training in nutrition support and enteral feeding.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Membership of British Dietetic Association.
  • Member of Specialist Interest Group related to Nutrition Support.
  • Supervisory skills training.
  • Post-registration training in Behaviour Change.

Experience:

  • Post-registration and previous experience in a range of clinical areas, including nutrition support.
  • Experience of formulating treatment plans for malnourished patients or those at risk of malnutrition adopting a food-based approach.
  • Experience of recommending the use of oral nutritional supplements in line with NICE guidelines and ACBS criteria.
  • Experience in managing patients requiring oral nutrition support with other nutrition-related diseases such as diabetes and cancer.
  • Experience in supervising, training, and teaching healthcare professionals.
  • Experience in conducting nutrition support audits, quality improvement, and/or research.
  • Experience in using behaviour change techniques.
  • Experience in contributing to policy, procedures, guidelines, and clinical standards development.
  • Experience in working within community dietetics.
