Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Management Specialist to join our team at Turner & Townsend Group. As a key member of our cost management team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality cost management services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of feasibility studies and procurement reports
  • Develop and present cost plans, including estimating and cost planning
  • Manage the tendering and procurement process, including pre-qualification and tender reporting
  • Act as contract administrator, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements
  • Conduct cost checks and valuations on larger projects
  • Produce monthly post-contract cost reports
  • Negotiate and agree final accounts with clients
  • Interface with clients, project managers, and other consultants to ensure effective communication
  • Collaborate with our project management team to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Lead a cost management team where appropriate, utilizing our digital cost management tools and services
  • Implement our Embodied Carbon Calculator to reduce carbon emissions
  • Manage internal fees, job costing, and resourcing requirements
Marketing and Business Development
  • Identify opportunities to develop new business with existing clients
  • Develop and maintain a professional network of peers and potential clients
  • Assist in the production of bid documentation
  • Identify ways to improve cost management procedures
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, including external groups
Internal Management Accountabilities

As a Cost Management Specialist, you will be assessed on your ability to:

  • Manage commissions to the right quality standards
  • Deliver services in line with the conditions of appointment
  • Develop good relationships with clients
  • Work effectively as a member of the cost management team
  • Identify opportunities to develop new business with existing clients
  • Track margin levels on all commissions
  • Retain key information and data effectively
Requirements
  • Working towards or recently achieved Chartered Status
  • Confident and professional manner
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize workload
  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships
  • Ability to work well under pressure
Qualifications
  • Working towards or desire to work towards full membership of the RICS (MRICS), ACostE or equivalent professional qualification
  • Cost management experience within the build construction arena
  • Analytical thinker, open to learning from others
  • Ability to be client-facing and focused
  • Drive, passion, and decisiveness
