Job Introduction

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Technician to join our team based at Tipton.

You will be accountable to the Team Manager for the construction, maintenance, and repair of the underground and overhead network up to 66kV. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Network operations, including the issue of Limitations of Access and Permit to Work safety documents up to 66kV
  • Construction of distribution substations, construction and alteration of overhead lines and associated plant, installation of plant, laying and jointing of cables up to 11kV
  • Repair and replacement of faulty and obsolete plant, cables, and overhead lines
  • Recording asset routes, details, and positions
  • Recording plant details
  • Connecting generators

Main Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the network
  • Carrying out routine maintenance and repairs to the network
  • Collaborating with colleagues to achieve team goals
  • Providing excellent customer service

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Grade A*-C/4-9 GCSE in English and Maths or Functional Skills Level 2 qualification in both subjects
  • City & Guilds 2339 Level 2 or equivalent Level 2 qualification in Electrical Engineering
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
