About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Neurology Consultant to join our team at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Neurology Department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients with neurological conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Share responsibility for the delivery of high-quality care to patients presenting to the Neurology Department
  • Examine and treat patients, supervise patient care, and see patients referred to neurology from other teams within the hospital
  • See patients in out-patient clinics, support clinical decision-making of junior medical and nursing staff, and provide on-call support
  • Carry out ward rounds, manage internal ward referrals, and provide conditions for improved training opportunities
  • Participate in the undergraduate teaching programme and contribute to the development of the service

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Full GMC registration and MBBS or equivalent
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via oCCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview)
  • Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCST in Neurology
  • Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
