Job Summary

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a leading Neurology Centre providing comprehensive neurological care to patients in Gloucestershire. Our team of Consultants work alongside neurology specialist nurses to deliver high-quality care to patients across the county.

Main Responsibilities
  • Share responsibility for delivering high-quality care to patients presenting to the Neurology Department
  • Examine and treat patients, supervise patient care, and see patients referred to neurology from other teams within the hospital
  • See patients in out-patient clinics, support clinical decision-making of junior medical and nursing staff, and provide on-call support
  • Carry out ward rounds, manage internal ward referrals, and provide conditions for improved training opportunities
  • Participate in undergraduate teaching programmes and be encouraged to be active in clinical research
About Us

The Trust received approval to become a Foundation Trust in July 2004, providing acute hospital services for the whole of Gloucestershire. Our five-year plan, 'Our Journey to Outstanding', aims to achieve the Trust's vision of 'Best Care for Everyone'. We serve a population of almost 620,000 for acute care and over 750,000 for cancer.

Job Requirements
  • Full GMC registration, MBBS or equivalent, and entry on the GMC Specialist Register via oCCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview)
  • Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCST in Neurology, ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
  • Highly motivated, forward-thinking, and able to work in a multi-disciplinary team
