Due to new client wins, a family-run pension company providing services to defined benefit pension schemes has a great opportunity available for an experienced pension professional to join their Trustee team.

The role will involve working within a small trustee team to manage the operation and governance of a number of small DB schemes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with all aspects of trustee meetings, including meeting packs, attendance, minutes, and action points.
  • Utilizing a workflow monitoring system to ensure that all work targets are met and tasks completed within statutory deadlines.
  • Liaising with service providers, such as actuaries, administrators, accountants, and lawyers, to manage scheme and member-specific tasks.
  • Providing a friendly and trusted first point of contact for clients and scheme members, directing their queries as appropriate and ensuring timely responses.
  • Assisting in the drafting and review of scheme documents, including annual accounts, summary funding statements, newsletters, and scheme returns.
  • Supporting client take-on, including due diligence, document collation, and review.
  • Participating in meetings with clients and new client pitches.
  • Supporting trustees, potentially taking on a lead role.

Ideal candidates will have experience in a scheme secretarial/scheme management role and a good working knowledge of DB schemes, secretarial, and governance support. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established company at its growth stage and develop within the role.
