Electrical Systems Design Specialist

We are working with a leading engineering firm based in the heart of the Cotswolds, to support the growth of our client by improving our engineering capabilities, operational efficiency, and customer service.
All aspects of front-end engineering including NPI review and management, drawing review, ECR/ECN/DCR raise and review, deviation and concession management, supporting quotation, procurement with part and alternative reviews, and all aspects to support products through to stable production.
Use 8D or other recognised problem-solving methodology for manufacturing issues, to eliminate recurring waste(s) by identifying root cause and implementing resolutions.

This Electrical Systems Design Specialist role will hold the following responsibilities:
Work Cross Functionally
- Support Project Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Design, Process Improvement Project Teams, quotations, and procurement
- Support all aspects of production process
Investigate True Root Cause
- Create and support concessions, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for customers as required
Create and Control Manufacturing Instructions
- Implement engineering changes to production
Manage Engineering for New Product Introductions (NPI)
Liaise with Customers
- Understanding customer requirements, specifications, and drawings
Translate Customer Information
- Into internal documentation, including design packs, general assembly drawings, wiring diagrams/schematics, Bill of Materials (BoM), Work Instructions, Test methods, and both electrical and mechanical manufacturing drawings
Collaborate to Drive Production Efficiencies
- Running Kaizen events and applying LEAN methodologies, identifying, and tracking opportunities for improvement
Review Build Practices
- Implement test jigs, fixtures, and process improvements to help drive quality improvements
Monitor Manufacturing Processes
- Assure compliance with approved methods and quality standards
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Be proactive in health & safety matters to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all employees within the production department
Data and Analytics
- Provide daily, weekly, and monthly data and analytics to the business
The estimated salary for this role is £55,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
