About the Role

A leading accountancy practice is seeking a skilled Personal Tax Consultant to join their Oxford team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality tax planning services to clients across various industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify Tax Planning Opportunities: Provide expert consultancy services to clients across all areas of personal tax, including income tax, capital gains tax, and inheritance tax.
  • Manage Client Portfolios: Ensure compliance with HM Revenue & Customs and in-house deadlines for a portfolio of personal tax clients.
  • Client Support: Assist with client queries, provide ad hoc advice, and bill clients after work completion.
  • Correspondence and Meetings: Deal with correspondence, telephone calls, and arrange meetings with clients and potential clients.
  • Technical Support: Assist partners and staff members with technical queries and provide assistance to junior team members.
  • Report Preparation: Assist in the preparation of technical reports in relation to income tax, capital gains tax, and inheritance tax.
  • HMRC Correspondence: Deal with HMRC correspondence, telephone calls, and enquiries.
  • General Support: Provide general support to the tax team as required.

About You
  • Private Client Tax Experience: Possess experience working in a private client tax team.
  • Professional Qualifications: Be ATT qualified, ideally working towards CTA.
  • Key Skills: Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as a high level of resilience and attention to detail.
  • Organizational Skills: Show the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and pick up new technology quickly.
  • Commercial Approach: Possess a can-do attitude, positive and commercial approach, and a confident, tactful, and discreet manner.
