Job Summary

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and managing hygiene standards to meet all food safety and legal requirements. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual with supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting who is committed to upholding top hygiene, safety, and operational standards.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Health, Safety & Hygiene: Act as a role model for safety and hygiene, immediately reporting and addressing incidents, investigating root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Team Leadership: Assign, prioritize, and oversee work to ensure production schedules and quality standards are met.
  • Operational KPIs: Drive and monitor KPIs with the Production and Maintenance Manager, leading team meetings to review performance and foster continuous improvement.
  • Equipment Knowledge: Operate and coordinate various production machines (metal detection, labellers, case sealers, etc.) to meet production goals.
  • Compliance & Continuous Improvement: Uphold compliance within QMS standards and lead improvement projects targeting cost savings.
  • Team Development: Coach and mentor team members, fostering a flexible workforce and identifying training needs.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate activities with other departments like Hygiene and Logistics to address changes in production plans and ensure seamless shift handovers.


Production Support Responsibilities:


  • Lead by example in health and safety, ensuring all equipment is safe to use and team members are briefed on safety procedures, including fire and emergency protocols.


Person Specification:


  • Experience: Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); ERP/SAP experience is advantageous.
  • Qualifications: Level 2 Food Safety, strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Attributes: Positive, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement with excellent communication and leadership skills.


Salary:

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
